Save Babble to Your Device, Test Chat with Character, and More

Hey Everyone! I've got a ton of exciting updates and improvements to share with you today:

New Features:

1. Save Babble to Your Device: Whether you're on Android or iPhone, you can now save Babble to your device by clicking "Add bookmark".

2. Test Chat with Character: Whenever you create a new character, you can now chat with it before hitting "Create" by scrolling down to the advanced settings section.

3. Free Tier Boost: I've doubled the usage limit for free users, so you now get twice the chat time you had before. Keep in mind that longer conversations will use up your limit faster.

4. Streaming Character Generation: Character generation now streams nicely, replacing the old 20-30 second wait time when hitting "generate"

5. Fork Chat: The long-awaited "Fork Chat" feature is here! You can now start a new chat from any message.

Important Changes:

• Editing Public Characters: You can now only edit or delete a public character within the first 12 hours of its creation. Note: Based on our Discord survey, this will soon change to prevent updates/deletions only after the character has 100 interactions with other users (not including the creator).

Improvements:

1. Group Chats:

   • Fixed the characters search issue when creating a new group chat.
   • Replaced the model completely - it's still not perfect, but performs significantly better!

2. System Theme Toggle: Choose between system, light, and dark themes from your profile menu.

3. Persona Creation: Creating a persona is now easier through the create menu. Plus, clicking on a persona now closes the menu for a smoother experience.

4. Character Sharing: When sharing a character, your link will now display a nice image with all its stats like interactions, thumbs up, etc.

5. Streamlined Creation: I've removed templates from the new create flow based on user feedback.

6. Persona Visibility: Your selected persona now appears next to your messages in chat so you know who you're talking as.

7. New Category: Added a "Horror" category.

8. Extended Greetings: I've increased the character limit for greetings to 1440 characters. Link

Fixes:

• Fixed a critical issue for Android users that was preventing proper chat usage.
• Significantly improved chat loading times.
• Removed character limit (clamp) from character bios. ... and many more minor bug fixes and improvements!

Future Plans:

• More Community Features: I plan on adding Character Reviews, Character Requests, and a Top Creators showcase to Babble. To encourage quality content, I'm also setting up monthly Plus subscription giveaways for standout creators. These additions should make Babble a more interactive place for everyone.

• Major Layout Update: I plan on making a big layout change to make Babble more desktop-friendly. This update, coming in the next few days, will allow for easier navigation between chats. Link
